How To Use A Trip Planner

How To Use A Trip Planner

Planning a trip or vacation can be a daunting task, especially if you're traveling with a big family or bunch of friends.
Where are you going to stay? How will you get there? What will you do while you're there? How much will it all cost?
These are all excellent, albeit overwhelming, questions.

Using A Trip Planner-

The key to planning a successful and money-saving vacation is by using a Trip Planner. Going through a Travel Agency can cost you a lot more money in the long run, and leave you with fewer options. They'll want you to use their preferred hotels, airlines and rental companies, not always at the best price to you. If you want to learn more about traveling on a budget, check out my last blog post 5 Steps To Plan Your Vacation On A Budget.

I recently went to HHI and used my PlanLikeABoss Vacation Planner to sort out all the details. Here's how I did it.

Step 1- Make it your own!

Personalize your vacation planner and you're much more likely to use it throughout the entire vacation. You're bound to make worth-while memories each and every day of your trip that you'll want to remember!

I used a mixture of scrapbook paper, washi tape, stickers and ephemera. I stopped by my local Joann Fabrics and picked up basically everything from the SUNNY DAYS collection by Crate Paper, which went so perfectly with my beach vacation. (I am not affiliated with Joanns or Crate Paper, I just love their stuff!)
I prefer to decorate the pages first and fill in writing around the stickers, but you can do it however you like.

Then I added tabs so I could flip easily between the planning, journaling and scrapbooking sections. They got pretty banged up so I'm planning on laminating them to make sturdier tabs. How to use a trip planner

Step 2- The Research

Depending on what type of trip you're planning, you could need a variety of information. The PlanLikeABoss Vacation Planner has designated space to compare and choose flights, hotels, car rentals and more.

With room to plan your spending, you'll be able to sort out how to get all the great parts of your trip worked into your budget.

Step 3- What Are You Going To Do On Your Trip?

Maybe you don't want to do anything but relax on your trip. Or maybe you want to see and experience everything there is to see. Either way, your vacation is about doing it your way. With the Adventures List and Adventure Details pages, you can choose the best possible options to make your trip as fun-filled or relaxing as you want!

Step 4- The Fun Part!

Your trip planner has scrapbooking pages and a journal included, so use it! I like to use one journal page to write down hilarious quotes that were uttered on the trip so I can laugh at them again and again.

And of course my absolute favorite part- adding pictures! Below each image, there is space to write in the whos, whens, and wheres. You can add pics chronologically or mix up your favorites~

Using a PlanLikeABoss Vacation Planner is so much more than just writing down when your flight is and what hotel you're staying in. Trips and vacations are where lifelong memories are made, and those memories deserve a special place to be remembered.
